It has become increasingly evident that business rules are only a part of the whole puzzle of business logic in BPM, SOA, and Business Architecture. The recent book by James Taylor, “Smart Enough Systems” confirms the long advocated position of Barbara von Halle that the business is interested in managing business logic at the decision level: now this eminent panel of minds explore and explain the importance of Decisions, their relationship to business rules, and to the other important disciplines, and why we are seeing the emergence of a new discipline, Business Decision Management (BDM) as a critical component in BPM, SOA and Business Architecture.
