Established in 2000, FlowCentric is a small privately held BPMS supplier headquartered in the UK, with regional entities serving Europe, North America, Middle East and Africa, and Asia/Pacific. Most product development is done in South Africa. The FlowCentric product is based on and heavily leverages Microsoft’s evolving BPM platform based on .Net and Windows services. FlowCentric is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner with ISV, Business Process and Integration and Information Worker competencies.
The FlowCentric BPMS is intended to be used by business analysts and consultants without programming. The FlowCentric solution provides a single user interface that is simple enough that even unskilled staff can use easily. The product is primarily sold through channel partners, and is aimed at “supporting partner consultants to define, develop, deploy and maintain composite process applications, to extend the functionality of ERP, CRM and other business management applications.”
The software is web-hostable out of the box, and process design and administration can be performed over the web as well. FlowCentric supports both conventional and SaaS software delivery models. In the SaaS model, software is licensed per user/server with options for hosting by the customer, partner, or FlowCentric. The FlowCentric architecture and pricing model makes it well suited for public-facing processes. An example of this is an implementation for the Gauteng Provincial Legislature in South Africa that allows the public to submit petitions on a public site, triggering a FlowCentric process staffed by legislature employees.
FlowCentric solutions span the complete range of process types, and are commonly used in conjunction with Microsoft Dynamics ERP and CRM applications. FlowCentric’s integration and BAM architecture depends heavily on Microsoft BizTalk Server. FlowCentric offers process templates for supply chain, compliance, enterprise project management, and human resource management. The supply chain experience spans across multiple industries that range from brewing to manufacturing to financial services. Other common FlowCentric applications include sales and order management, accounting, contracts and procurement, HR, lending, configuration control and change management:
